Restaurants
Gamma's Seafood
by Bud King
One of our friends told Dolores and me about a fish soup they had at a new restaurant called Gamma's Seafood in front of Hotel Plaza las Glorias . We had to go and try it on our last trip down. It is like Albondigas (a Mexican meatball soup), only made out of fishballs, and it was delicious. We shared a bowl of soup, which came with rice on the side (we put the rice in the soup), and we each had a whole fried fish that came with pico-de-gallo, rice, great corn tortillas, and of course limes. I believe the fish was sea trout. It was also very good. Along with the meal we each had a cup of coffee, as we were on our way back to Tucson, and the bill only came to $11 U.S. That was the best meal for the money we had eaten in Rocky Pint for some time.
While we were eating we saw the waitress deliver some ceviche tostadas to another table. They were piled high with ceviche and looked very appetizing. We will have to try them on our next trip. Gamma's also serves a full range of seafood cocktails, such as shrimp, oyster, scallop, squid, etc.
Gamma's is the last place on the right just before you enter Las Glorias. It sits back off the road with a large parking lot in front. At the time we ate our meals they had not yet put up their sign, but hopefully by the time you get to try this place, their sign will be up, which will make it easy to find.
