Restaurants A Winning Bet
The restaurant has an attractive ambience and excellent service. We were struck with its multicultural aspect. We were at one table and at another was a Chinese family. At two others were Mexican businessmen and a Mexican family. As if to underline this pluralism, the condiments at each table included soy sauce for the Chinese, several salsas for the Mexicans, and ketchup and mustard for the Americans.

Restaurants The King of Tequila and the Queen of Cuisine
We wrote an article a few months ago about Mickey's Cantina, a new restaurant and bar in theOld Port. Last week we were driving through at about cocktail time, thinking about having a margarita. When we went past Mickey's, we said, "This is it." What better place to find tequila--in any form?

Restaurants Molé
Molé is something I've known about for years, and even tried to make once or twice, but it was so involved that I haven't kept trying. But recently I "rediscovered" it when I had some chicken with molé sauce in a local Puerto Peñasco restaurant, and it was so delicious I resolved to try it again. I was greatly aided by discovering in a local market molé sauce concentrate that comes in a jar and can be diluted with water to make a wonderful sauce.

Restaurants El Perico Marinero
The smells of fish and shrimp cooking were so appetizing that we decided to order a fish platter. We went upstairs to the deck overlooking the sea with a 180 degree view. It was about 75 degrees with a pleasant breeze blowing. We looked out to see if we could spot any dolphins or whales, both of which have been seen there, but maybe the shrimp boats trolling scared them away.

Does this sound like the title of an Aesop's fable? It isn't--just the names of two business establishments in Puerto Penasco that we visited on the same day.
